El Aguizy Organic Produce  

El Aguizy, as a believer in environmental protection and development, has instructed the planning department to study the how to initiate the organic market. After studding the history of the organic production, the EEC and IFOAM regulation and the standards of the organic production, we have decided to started in a deferent way not following the others. Frankly speaking, We found the organic market is filled with confusion and non reliable actions.

 Our plan has depended on the following bases:

  • Transparency in production, documentation and marketing.
  • Following the latest technical know how form the main local and international resources.
  • Starting in a proper way and not very fast to avoid making beginners mistakes.

 Accordingly, we took the following steps:

  • Consultation agreement with professors in the field of organic Production.
  • Agreement with farmers to produce organic crops (colored sweet peppers, green beans, cherry tomatoes ….etc) for exporting to Europe
  • Visiting some clients in Europe and preparing the schedule of exporting.
  • Agreement with BCS (an accredited certification body in Europe).
  • Separating a packing station , pre-coolers and cold stores exclusively for organic production.

 Achievements:

  • Established business with importers in Italy, England and the Netherlands.
  • Developed the experience of the organic crops production.
  • Developed proper documentation and guide lines for the organic business.

 The Future:

After gaining sufficient experience, El Aguizy has realized the potential of organic production, and has decided to take maters into its own hands for the coming sessions.  It has acquired a piece of virgin land which will be used to achieve a completely organic operation.  This includes an organic cultivation of animal feed for live stock and poultry's consumption as well as a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables.  The aim is to have a complete and diverse circle of organic produce and for El Aguizy to be one of the leading organic producers and exporters in Egypt.  This farm will be a module for organic production.
