Certifications:

El Aguizy is EUREP-GAP certified for two of its farms, Sadat and Tahrir. Grapes and Peaches at the Sadat city farm. Strawberries, Green Beans and Mangetout are grown on the Tahrir farm. This was completed in 2002 by the CMI certifying body. The EUPEP-GAP accreditation was not completed for the whole of El Aguizy's land, but work is under way and is expected to be terminated before July 2003. Also the same deadline is set for the BRC (British retailers' consortium) and ETI (Ethical trading initiative). By July 2003 all El Aguizy's operations, either on the farm or in the pack house, will be 100% certified.

Meanwhile we would like to take this opportunity to ashore you that all El Aguizy's operations are up to British and European standards. All our products are traceable back to the plot in the farm they were grown on, and all treatments are recorded and monitored regularly. We also carry out random pesticide residue testing, with rate of three to four times a month for every product. Our workers welfare is considered, as well as the sanitation and hygiene of all of El Aguizy's locations. We take high measures for insuring the safety of three things; the environment, the worker, and the product. El Aguizy was the first company in Egypt to develop its own code of practice in 1997.
